About Dr. William Knudson

Leesburg, Virginia-based podiatrist Dr. William Knudson graduated Cum Laude from Chicago’s William Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine. Recognized for his dedication and potential in the field of podiatrics, Dr. William Knudson was awarded multiple scholarships, including the Philip Brachman and the Durlacher Honors Scholarships. During his residency, Dr. William Knudson served Oklahoma County at the Surgical Hospital of Oklahoma.

In 1996, Dr. William Knudson advanced his career when he accepted a position at Oklahoma City’s Hillcrest Health Center. Shortly after this move, Dr. William Knudson’s eye for detail caught the attention of hospital superiors, and he was appointed as Chief Resident. While operating in this capacity over a 24 month period, Dr. William Knudson completed certification programs for Advance Lower Extremity Wound Care, Internal Fixation specific to ankle and foot surgery, and ankle and foot arthroscopy. Dr. William Knudson has also studied other specialized aspects of podiatry, including surgical reconstruction on the foot, ankle, and lower leg.

Dr. William Knudson has gained a breadth of expertise in all areas of podiatry over his decade and a half long career. Most notably, Dr. William Knudson is known for his advanced skills in the areas of diabetic foot care, trauma, pediatric podiatry, sports medicine, wound healing, and reconstructive surgery. As well, Dr. William Knudson is respected by colleagues and patients alike for his mastery of general and surgical podiatric care.

As an educator, Dr. William Knudson serves on staff at Inova Fairfax Hospital’s Podiatric Residency Program of Northern Virginia, where he mentors the next generation of foot and ankle care specialists. Having served the profession as chief resident, independent physician, and medical education director, Dr. William Knudson has helped countless hopefuls achieve their dream of completing their education and entering the complex field of podiatry.

Dr. William Knudson has received several honors from his peers, including an appointment as a Fellow in the esteemed ACFAS (the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons), a 6,000-member organization committed to promoting excellence in the field of podiatry. He is also an American Board of Podiatric Surgery Diplomat.

Currently, Dr. William Knudson heads up the team at Podiatric Care of Northern Virginia. Knudson and wife Sarah have made Leesburg their home. Together, the couple have two children and share a love of healthy living. The Knudson family can often be found enjoying nature together. Dr. William Knudson is also an avid hunter who stresses safety as the number one priority of the sport.
